Microsoft reveals PDC 2011 date — could release Windows 8 Beta

Yesterday at MIX’11, Microsoft announced the date of PDC 2011, or the Professional Developers Conference, which will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from September 13-16.

We do not know for sure what will be announced there, but we can make a pretty good guess: they will release a Windows 8 Beta. Don’t get too excited, though. This would likely be a private beta as Microsoft did with Windows 7 at first, then there would be an eventual public beta.

Not much is known about Windows 8 yet (well, for sure changes, that is), but Microsoft demoed Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 1 on Windows 8 yesterday, though it still looked much like Windows 7.

So enter September 13-16 in your calendar, and be on the look out for any news coming from PDC 2011.
